duxbury-d-and-r-remodel kitchen remodel overview light modern featured

At D&R Design, we recently completed an exciting and comprehensive remodel of a first-floor space on Duxbury Ct. This project involved moving the plumbing to the middle of the room on the post-tension slab, requiring x-rays and coring with the help of Safe2core Inc. We then knocked down a wall and replaced a window and door with a 12’ slider, remodeled the media area, and added a striking media wall with a faux fireplace as a focal point in the living area.

The kitchen underwent a complete transformation. We moved the plumbing to accommodate a new layout featuring two islands, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. This beautiful and bright modern kitchen now boasts more storage, an RO system, and an additional seating area. The countertops and backsplash are Bellatrix quartz from Arizona Tile, and white shaker cabinets surround the kitchen with stainless steel hardware. Some cabinetry includes customized pull-outs and organizer pegs for dishes, and elegant glass doors were added to elevate the space further. The hood and floating shelf are stained in dark walnut, captivating the eyes.

Significant framing work was done, including the removal of walls to open up the floor plan and the creation of an additional entry space for the laundry area. We also transformed the entryway from the garage, building out a hall and adding rolling doors for easy access to the dining room. Specific materials and finishes were chosen for their quality and visual appeal, including Milgard windows, custom pendant lights provided by the client, and a sink and faucet sourced from Kohler. The walls were painted in Sherwin-Williams Modern Gray with SW Extra White on the doors and trim. We installed White Mood Wood tile from Monterrey Tile Company on the entire ground floor with Grout Ash.

This new dazzling kitchen and remodeled first-floor space are so inviting, simple yet elegant, creating a cohesive and updated look throughout.
